A knowledgeable and driven insurance professional, Liam began his insurance career in 2021 and has developed a well-rounded foundation across broking, binder management, and underwriting operations.
In May 2025, he joined Azura Global Risks as an Assistant Underwriter, where he will support Philippe and other senior underwriters in their respective classes of business as Azura Global Risks continue to expand its portfolio.
Liam’s prior experience in both client-facing and operational roles—most notably within the Lloyd’s and London Market—has given him a strong appreciation for underwriting integrity, data accuracy, and effective market engagement.
His collaborative mindset and attention to detail will ensure the smooth execution of underwriting activity and broader business processes.
Liam is committed to long-term growth within the underwriting discipline, and brings a practical, solutions-oriented approach to supporting Azura’s ambitions in building a successful and sustainable multi-line platform.
Pascale Allaire Bourgin
A Legal & Claims specialist, Pascale began her career at Allianz Global Corporate Solutions, where she led the Legal & Claims department for energy, marine and cargo risks.
After 15 years at Allianz, she joined the Prunay Group as Director of Development and Legal Advisor, working across complex offshore, construction and transport claims. In 2006, Pascale transitioned into consultancy, acting as Claims Manager for several major insurers and Lloyd’s syndicates including Munich Re, Watkins 457, and RSA.
She has managed high-stakes international losses across oil and gas, marine renewables, submarine cable, and logistics, while also advising on policy wordings, risk mitigation, and claims strategy.
Pascale has joined Azura Global Risks to lead the Claims function and support the growth of a high-performing, client-focused MGA. She is fluent in French, English and German, and continues to mentor the next generation of claims professionals.
Philippe Bara
An offshore engineer by training, with contractor background on major deep-water development projects, Philippe was previously a senior Energy underwriter at PartnerRe.
After a decade Philippe left PartnerRe and post-Covid pandemic he joined a Lloyds of London brokerage. He spent one year there before he was tasked with the establishment and leadership of a new multi-line managing general agent (MGA).
As the Chief Underwriting Officer and Energy & Power Underwriter, Philippe and the team he assembled achieved a milestone of USD 125M GWP after the first year of trading. The LR was below 30% - an excellent result.
Philippe joined Azura Global Risks in search of new challenges and is keen to develop and grow a successful, sustainable and profitable multi-line MGA in conjunction with our partners.
Lesley Kruger
An accomplished and qualified insurance practitioner, Lesley started her insurance career in 1996. Her wealth of cross class experience has been gained in all areas of the insurance industry, from retail broking, insurer, underwriting managers/managing agent to reinsurance broking and business development.
Lesley’s move to the UK from South Africa in 2021 enabled her broaden her experience in a different yet similar regulatory environment, with emphasis on her client-centric focus and innovative ideas of product development. Lesley’s extensive network of contacts within the London and African markets, combined with her strategic and analytical thinking skills, are invaluable.
Compliance is a core focus area for Lesley and this builds upon her many years of managerial and C-Suite level experience and stood her in good stead as the Deputy COO of a Lloyds brokerage in London.

Elijah is a successful entrepreneur who has spent over a decade building a substantial insurance organisation that employs over 100 people and generates over $600 million per year in annual premiums.
Elijah has a track record of building successful businesses and developing and maintaining successful partnerships. Elijah also has been uniquely successful in expanding his business ventures beyond North America and has experience in numerous global markets and business climates.
